4-lane motorway section of Sagarejo-Badiauri highway is a part of Kakheti highway. The project foresees the construction of a new traffic junction near the village Badiauri, as well as the construction of 4 bridges, 8 road crossings and 86 waterways. In addition, the local road network will be improved and connected to the central road near the project section.
The length of the section is 17 km. Construction works started in 2023 and will be completed in 2025.
486 people are employed on the construction of the Badiauri section, including 254 Georgian citizens.
The construction works of the project are carried out by the international company Gocay Insaat Taahhut ve Ticaret Anonim Sirketi.
The project is financed by the international donor organization World Bank and its budget is 276.8 million GEL.
The construction process is supervised by the international company IRD Engineering S.r.l. The supervisory team at the site checks the conformity of the construction materials to be used and the works performed, conducts the necessary laboratory tests, conducts quality control, checks the compliance of labor and safety during the course of the works, agrees on the construction work methodologies, checks the execution of the work plan-schedules, the volumes of the works performed, studies environmental and social issues. , prepares monthly reports and approves technical documentation (drawings, engineering reports).
