Rubric “Roads of Georgia” – the 9-km long tunnel for the Kvesheti-Kobi road project has been completed

The excavation of the largest tunnel, 9 km long, for the Kvesheti-Kobi road project has been completed.
The main tunnel was excavated using a Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) specially designed for the Kvesheti-Kobi project, significantly reducing environmental impact.
The TBM not only drills through the rock but also removes the debris and installs the lining simultaneously.
At 9 km, this tunnel will be the longest in Georgia and one of the most remarkable in the world.
