As part of the new main road construction project in Rikoti, a 9-km bypass of Zestafoni on the Shorapani-Argveta section has been opened.

The travel time from Tbilisi to Batumi will be reduced to 3 hours and 30 minutes.
The 9-km, four-lane cement-concrete Zestafoni bypass includes 4 tunnels and 11 bridges. The construction of the main road on the Shorapani-Argveta section is being carried out with the support of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
