Rubric “Roads of Georgia” – Bakurtsikhe-Tsnori bypass

Bakurtsikhe-Tsnori section is part of one of the main roads in Kakheti (Tbilisi-Bakurtsikhe-Lagodekhi), passing through a densely populated area and experiencing high levels of transit traffic.

Bakurtsikhe-Tsnori bypass road project includes the construction of a 2-lane asphalt-concrete road and 6 bridges. This new road will bypass Tsnori and 6 nearby villages (Bakurtsikhe, Kardenakhi, Anagi, Vakiri, Mashnaari, and Sakobo), allowing vehicles traveling between Bakurtsikhe and Tsnori to avoid passing through Tsnori and these villages.

By redirecting traffic away from Tsnori to the new bypass road, the project will significantly improve the ecological conditions and road safety in the affected settlements. The construction is financially supported by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) at a cost of 87.8 million GEL.
