Rubric “Roads of Georgia” – ongoing road projects in Kakheti

Construction work for the development of road infrastructure in Kakheti continues actively.

On the 35 km high-speed highway from Tbilisi to Sagarejo, the first 4 km section was completed in 2023 and traffic is now open. Work on the remaining 2 lots, which cover a total of 31 km, will be completed this year, and the entire 35 km Tbilisi-Sagarejo road will be fully operational.

Also, in 2023, construction began on the 17 km Sagarejo-Badiauri section, which will be completed in 2025.

The construction of the 16.6 km Bakurtsikhe-Tsnori bypass road continues actively. This section is part of one of the main roads in Kakheti (Tbilisi-Bakurtsikhe-Lagodekhi), which passes through a densely populated area and is characterized by high-intensity transit traffic. Traffic on this section will open in the near future.
